UNCOMPROMISED CLARITY,
ABSOLUTE CONTROL.
The lowest octaves hold the most energy, yet they are the hardest to judge. The SUB range exposes the truth of your low-end, providing the precise extension needed to master your sub-bass and command the mix with total confidence.
Introducing SUB: THE ANCHOR OF LOW-END ACCURACY
Most subwoofers are the seagull spotting a dropped chip on the seafront – all aggression and zero finesse. They are designed to be impressive in consumer showrooms, voiced to sound dramatic, and desperate to make their presence known.
But in a professional studio, a shouty sub isn't a help - it's a hindrance.
We built a subwoofer system that doesn't try to impress you. It is engineered around a single, uncompromising principle: ultra-low distortion.
-
Class-Leading Low Distortion: Utilises the world-class Dayton Audio Reference Series driver, featuring triple shorting rings to stabilise the magnetic flux field. This keeps second-order, third-order, and intermodulation distortions under an incredible 0.5% for absolute transparency.
-
Extensively Vented Motor Assembly: Eliminates air compression behind the dustcap and spider, preventing mechanical noise and power compression even at maximum excursion.
-
Rock-Solid Valchromat Cabinetry: Built from ultra-rigid 19mm Valchromat with a massive 38mm thick front baffle, eliminating the cabinet resonances, vibrations, and rattles that plague traditional sub design.
-
Foundation Isolation Mounts Included: Every system ships with our bespoke decoupling mounts as standard, stopping low-frequency energy from escaping into your floor and turning your room structure into an uncontrolled secondary speaker.
-
Seamless MUM Integration: Powered by the pristine Hypex DSP3 platform (250W per channel of clean Class-D power) with perfectly matched crossover presets to seamlessly hand off the heavy lifting from your MUM monitors.
-
Future-Proof Ecosystem: Includes an integrated 9-band EQ for deeper manual calibration with other monitor brands, and fully supports our upcoming PresentDayProduction DSP control system free upgrade.
-
Modular Extender Path: Expandable via the SUB-12X passive extender, giving you full dual-driver capability across two separate cabinets to easily cancel out destructive room modes without international pallet shipping nightmares.
True accuracy means silencing the guesswork. Stop fighting the low end and hear only the truth of your mix.

COMMAND THE ROOM, DON'T OVERWHELM IT.
The low end should be felt and understood, not just endured. For our SUB range, we chose the Dayton Audio RSS315HF-4 driver, a transducer built specifically to deliver high-output, low-distortion sub-bass without the typical boomy, uncontained mess found in many subwoofers.
The RSS315HF-4 features a heavy-duty aluminum cone and a sophisticated motor assembly with triple shorting rings. This engineering keeps inductance remarkably low and ensures the driver behaves perfectly under immense load. Translated to your studio: it provides absolute grip and authority over the lowest octaves.
Instead of a shouty, one-note cabinet that masks errors with generic rumble, this design offers total control and speed. The transient response is immediate - the bass starts and stops precisely with the signal, completely free of the sluggish overhang that ruins low-end translation. It adds a solid, transparent foundation to your setup, allowing you to sculpt the sub-bass with surgical accuracy and total confidence.

AMPLIFIERS THAT SONICALLY DISAPPEAR
World class drivers are no good if they just show flaws in amplifier design, and traditional analogue designs, with either passive or active crossovers, can be yet another source of distortion - colouring what you are actually hearing.
That’s why we use the cleanest, most accurate wire-with-gain amplifier technology currently available - a class-leading design manufactured for us by Dutch company Hypex Electronics, with approved modifications carried out by us in our workshop to lower the already ultra-low noise floor to imperceptible levels.
Our DSP front end controls the sub frequency range with a very efficient, low-distortion Class D amplifier then powering the 12" subwoofer drivers. This combats all the issues that traditionally plague an analogue front end, which can lead to distortion and colouration – great in your outboard, but not in your monitors!
On the SUB-212, the amplifiers are in a separate enclosure that can either be mounted on the back of the speaker or completely removed and placed in a rack. This leads to more efficient cooling, less stress on components for a longer and more reliable life, and allows for easy soffit mounting, with the amplifiers located in a machine room, in the front wall under the speakers, or wherever you see fit.
An easily removable amp-pack also allows for future upgrades. As DSP and Class D technologies continually improve, we can not only equip new SUB orders with the latest advancements but also offer new amp packs with cutting-edge technology to existing SUB owners.
Our amp packs also offer wireless control from the included remote. Volume, input selection, preset number, standby power, and more can all be controlled remotely, with their status clearly visible from the OLED display on the front of the speakers. No more faffing around the back to change settings!
Sustainably Crafted Cabinets for Pure Sound
Our SUB cabinets feature a 38mm thick front baffle with constrained-layer-damping and are fully braced. This ensures you hear the sound from the drivers, not unwanted resonances and distortion from the cabinets themselves.
We wanted to avoid VOC-laden MDF and environmentally unfriendly paint finishes. Our cabinets are made from FSC-certified Valchromat, manufactured in Portugal from a combination of recycled pine, and trees grown in sustainable plantations specifically for its production. The bonding resin is 100% VOC-free (the material can be safely used in children's toys) and also makes for a cabinet that is around 30% denser than its MDF counterparts – perfect for loudspeaker cabinet construction.
The speakers are available in a variety of colours, with the pigment embedded directly into the Valchromat material during production. It's sealed and protected using a natural bio-engineered product that is, again, made from entirely natural materials, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly. Plus, it won’t adhere to itself, so cabinets that become scratched or damaged can be easily repaired throughout their life.

Twice the Value, Direct to You
When we launched the MUMs, we opted for a direct sales model. This cuts out unnecessary middlemen, enabling us to offer you fantastic value for money and incredible levels of customer service. All speakers are made by hand, by us, and are shipped directly from either our UK workshop or our trusted partner in the United States.
With any MUM model, you’re getting twice the value the competition can offer because you’re not paying distribution or retail margins. You’re also talking directly with us – no lengthy service-ticket support or having to go through a retailer.
This model hugely benefits us too. We get to know our clients, can offer advice on positioning and room treatment to help you get the most out of your monitors and, on the very rare occasion something does go wrong, we can get you back up and running hassle-free, in the least amount of time.
About Us: James & Mark
We are James and Mark, and we’ve been running a professional audio business together since 2014. Mark got the recording bug in the late 1980s, quickly gaining entry into London’s top studios through his love of the Hammond organ. He opened his first commercial studio in 2012, with James joining two years later.
Mastering was always his passion, so what started as a traditional commercial studio pivoted solely to mastering and post-production during the Covid-19 outbreak, with the pair starting a YouTube channel at the same time.
Our journey to the MUMs began while trying to specify a system for Dolby Atmos that featured mastering-grade monitoring all around the room, but didn’t require an investment that could have equally bought us a small family home! We spent two years (with a lot of expert help!) developing a three-way active studio monitor, initially for our use only, that rivalled the mastering-grade monitors costing tens of thousands of pounds we had been using for years. Once we started using them in earnest, two unexpected things happened:
-
Positive feedback from our mastering clients went up exponentially as revisions went down.
-
Our clients wanted to buy them!
And so we went about refining the ‘DIY’ paint-roller finished speakers we had installed in our Atmos room at PDP HQ into a proper commercial product. This refinement process led to a vastly improved cabinet design with professionally CNC cut parts (in place of Mark’s accomplished but ‘rustic’ router work!), a transition from an off-the-shelf Hypex plate amplifier to our own rack-mountable design, and further refinement of the DSP algorithms to maximise phase alignment of drivers and ensure a cohesive wavefront at the listening position.
Our early adopters were delighted with the results, and our MUMs have been replacing many ‘name’ brands in hundreds of home, project, and professional studios in over 35 countries ever since.
We are extremely proud of our monitors, but innovation is the key to creating truly groundbreaking products, and so we refuse to stand still. The MUM range is constantly improving and revealing other weak links in the monitoring chain that we know we can address with equally compelling offers – speaker stands, studio desks, and acoustic treatment being a few that are currently in development. This, backed up with our expert-led, actionable online content focusing on improving the production skills of our clients, means that the most exciting time in the history of music production, ever, is now!
